1/27/22 - Today Is International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Today is a day to honor and remember the millions of lives lost at the hands of the Nazi government.

It is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and a day to remember the Jews and other victims killed during the Holocaust.

A United National virtual ceremony will include testimonies from Holocaust survivors.

January 27is the anniversary of the Red Army's liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1945. 

Many events will be held around the world today.  There will be some TV specials.

Those wanting to learn more may want to find a book, watch a  documentary, or visit a museum.

The nonprofit, The Blue Card, reports that a third of the 100,000 survivors living in the United States live below the poverty line. 

 

Today and tomorrow, Focus on the Family is airing a two part series "The Greatest of These is Love" with Dutch watchmaker Corrie ten Boom as she explains how she got involved in hiding Jews from the Nazis and survived years in a concentration camp and how the Lord helped her forgive her captors.
