If you’re seeking a relaxing and tranquil location to get away with the family, a quiet respite awaits at the Fernwood Botanical Gardens near the Michigan/Indian border.

Our WCSG’s Travelin Together visits the 105 acres along the St. Joseph River south of Berrien Springs that includes a massive arboretum where you can explore and discover various plants and trees from temperate regions around the world. Your senses will be heightened in the Herb and Sensory Garden where over 200 kinds of herbs are displayed in an adapted English design. The 55-acre nature preserve has been designed to make hiking an enjoyable adventure with several trails of various lengths, but all curated to ensure you are as close to nature as possible.
