Posted by: Joel Hill | Thursday, November 20th, 2025 ( 6:00am)
A holiday tradition in Lansing is sure to get you and your family into the Christmas spirit. Silver Bells in the City started from humble beginnings with a few thousand lights strung around downtown Lansing. Today, close to one million lights will adorn buildings and the state capitol to light up the city. Events on Friday include the Electric Light Parade, with 70 entries including nine high school bands performing. You can participate in the community Christmas Carole sing and then sit back to watch the drone show and spectacular fireworks display. As part of the evening, the state Christmas tree will also be lit up. Throughout the night you can visit the Silver Bells Market where over 30 vendors will be open with their Christmas arts and crafts available for sale. And don’t forget to grab a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider while you’re there. You can learn more about hours and parking information by visiting their Silver Bells website. This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me…”
