Ice skating is certainly synonymous with the winter season. But sometimes getting outdoors is a little bit of a challenge. Our WCSG’s Travelin Together visits the Patterson Ice Center where you can experience the thrill of skating without the chill of the severe weather. The center in Grand Rapids makes it easy to practice and improve your skating ability by offering a variety of times to practice your particular area of interest on the ice. This includes figure skating, ice hockey for 55+, and time to improve your stick handling. The center operates two NHL sized sheets of ice and provides plenty of locker room space to store your gear. If you just want to move around the ice, there are open skating times throughout the week. If you are just starting out or need a refresher, you can sign up for lessons that are offered at multiple times during the week. For information, visit their website Patterson Ice Center.
