If you've ever dreamed about sailing on Lake Michigan but didn't have a boat, this experience may help solve that problem. A unique family experience on the big lake is casting off in two weeks from the Mart Dock in Muskegon. Aquastar Cruises offers several types of cruising on the waters near Muskegon, including multiple themed cruises, and afternoon tours. These cruises offer an opportunity to explore the history of the shores, visiting lighthouses and even enjoying some of the waterfowl that call Lake Michigan home. The 61-foot vessel can accommodate 150 passengers, making the touring a little less crowded, while still enjoying plenty of seating and viewing locations. The two deck vessel allows passengers to walk around, taking in different perspectives as well as getting a chance to stretch your legs! The cruiseline offers multiple themed tours throughout the summer months. There's an opportunity to view fireworks out on the water over Forth of July, and take part in the Light the Night Boat Parade in August. Sunset cruises depart around 8 p.m. and are on the water from 90 minutes to two hours, depending on weather and other factors. The ship offers snacks and drinks available for purchase, while you enjoy the serene setting, lighthouse views, and even get a glimpse of a shipwreck or two.
