In recent years, tobyMac has faced significant loss.

His first-born son, Truett (21) in 2019, his sister in 2020, his best friend and Diverse City band member, Gabe Patillo and Mandisa in 2024.

tobyMac recently connected with Levi and Jennie Lusko to opened up about grief and loss on a recent episode of their podcast, "Hey! It's the Luskos".
