Time to Turn the Page

We all have our morning routines. For me, it starts with getting up, heading to work, starting the coffee, and pulling my “stuff” out of the studio drawer to get ready for the morning show. There’s a set of headphones, a microphone filter, and most importantly, a black-and-white composition notebook. Since 2012, that notebook is always placed on the left side of the desk, open to a fresh page each day. Each one only costs a few dollars, but inside are irreplaceable treasures—because you, the listener, have filled those pages. For the past 12 years, I’ve followed the same pattern: every time a listener called into the show, I wrote it down. Every name, every song request, every prayer need, every fun story or meaningful moment you shared—it’s all there. As I prepare to step away from WCSG, there are now 14 of those notebooks tucked away in my bottom desk drawer. They’re filled with scribbles and memories that made me laugh, cry, reflect, and praise God. These aren’t just records of phone calls—they're a living history of the incredible community that makes WCSG so special. As I flip through the pages (more than 3,000 of them), I am reminded of so many special interactions that have taken place through the conduit of WCSG. Each morning with you - filled with songs, stories, prayers, and laughter - has been an incredible gift. You’ve welcomed us into your cars, your kitchens, and even the chaos of your commutes. You’ve let your kids call in to share their favorite songs. You’ve celebrated life’s highs with us and you've trusted us to walk with you through the lows. In letting me be a small part of your mornings, you have become a lasting part of my heart. You’re more than just listeners—you’re the heartbeat of WCSG. You’ve reminded me that this work is deeply personal. Whether it was a song request, a word of encouragement, or a prayer shared over the phone, every single connection mattered. I never could have imagined how deeply this community would shape my life. And through it all, I’ve seen again and again that we truly are stronger together than we could ever be apart. As I turn the page and step into a new season, I carry the love and lessons of the past 12 years with me. I’m especially thankful for the opportunity to be more present with my kids as they begin their mornings—just as I’ve had the joy of helping start yours. I’ll still be tuning in, cheering on Jeremy and the amazing team at WCSG, and supporting the mission we’ve all helped build. I’m excited to experience radio the way you do—through the ears of a listener, a fan, a friend, and a follower of Jesus. Thank you for letting me be part of your lives. It’s been an honor and a joy I will never forget. (Note from WCSG: If you'd like to share a message with Amanda as she steps into this new chapter, you can do so here.) For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
