You never know what curveballs life is going to throw you. For a 23-year-old hand cyclist from Lowell, it was a surgery complication that turned into a fire to do something amazing. It started when Kate Brim was 19 years-old and developed a spinal cord injury during a surgery complication. That issue would later result in the loss of her strength and function and forced her into rehabilitation. That's when she decided to turn this complication into an opportunity and joined a wheelchair rugby team and Mary Free Bed's hand cycling team. That turned into participating in competitions and most recently where Kate picked up four gold medals with Team USA at the 2022 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships! Such a great reminder that every challenge is an opportunity! Great job Kate! ~Jeremy & Amanda
