Palm Sunday is recognized as the Sunday before Jesus' death. Jesus had begun his trip to Jerusalem, knowing that he would soon lay down his life for the sins of humanity. As they neared the village, he sent two of his disciples ahead. Jesus told them, that they would find a donkey and her unridden colt - to untie them, and to bring them back to him. Jesus then rode into Jerusalem. Those that went ahead, spread their cloaks on the road and stretched out palm leaves to welcome him. As he arrived, they shouted... "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" p r a y e r : Jesus, thank you for coming to us. Forgive us if we, at times, don't welcome you with open arms. But we thank you for always welcoming us - you never reject us and always love us. Amen.
