18-year-old Htut Tun is expected to be formally arraigned in the death of his father.

A Cutlerville man faces multiple charges including homicide and assaulting a police officer.

Kent County Sheriff' Michelle LaJoye-Young says deputies originally were responding to a welfare check request and discovered the body of Aung Tun inside a home.  Tun's 18-year old son Htut Tun is accused in the death of his 49-year-old father as well as firing a weapon the injured a Kent County Sheriff’s officer.

Tun arrived back on the scene and was questioned by deputies before officers discovered a rifle inside the car and quickly tried to prevent Tun from accessing the weapon.  Detective Nathan Stanley apparently reached for the barrel of the gun to prevent Tun from raising the weapon and suffered a burn injury when the rifle was fired.

Investigators say it appears Tun’s father was deceased for about a day inside home they shared.  Tun is expected to be formally arraigned next week.  Stanley is expected to fully recover.

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
