4/22/21 – “Travelin’ Together” ….. check out West Michigan dune rides

Posted by: Becky Carlson | Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 ( 6:00am)

West Michigan is home to beautiful beaches as well as sand dunes.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is protected.  A few walking and biking trails are available but no vehicles are allowed on the dunes.

In Southern Michigan, The Saugatuck Dunes have trails and rides that are available.  Rides will begin mid-May and they will again offer a 40 minute tour of the dunes, local vegetation and wildlife. More information at: saugatuckduneride.com.

About 90 minutes to the north are the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.    They are the only sand dunes east of the Mississippi River where visitors are allowed to drive private motorized vehicles. You can let someone else drive and take a ride from the Mac Wood’s Dune Rides.

You are also allowed to bring your own vehicles and drive yourself , but make sure you have the correct permits and a flag for safety.

There are businesses in the Mears area that will also allow you to rent one of their ORV’s ….  Silver Lake Buggy Rentals and Wild Bill’s ATV Rentals.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
