4/15/21 – WCSG’s Travelin’ Togther Series – The Gilmore Car Museum

If you or someone you love is a car enthusiast, you won’t have to travel far to see some pretty amazing muscle cars.  The Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners is kicking off the season with a Foxbody Ford Mustang show.  The May 1st show will feature the Foxbody Ford Mustang, a muscle car from the 1980’s and 90’s.

“Folks who visit that day will be able to enjoy the Ford and Mustang focused car show outdoors.  We’re expecting lots of folks to bring their Mustang’s and their Ford’s and their classic cars out.”

Josh Russell, Executive Director at the Museum says the car was a favorite for drag racing.  While an eight cylinder vehicle, it could be modified by enthusiasts who would then race against other vehicles.   The Foxbody comes from the 1980’s and early 90’s has a square shape, but don’t be mistaken – these are fast cars.

While the show will follow Covid-19 protocols, Russell says the museum has enough space to accommodate visitors safely.

“We’re blessed, we’re very fortunate here at the Gilmore Car Museum.  We’re on a 90 acre campus.  There’s a tremendous amount of room for folks to be able to park and stay socially distanced for an outdoor show.  It’s a safe environment to be able to do that.”

Russell says masks are encouraged inside the buildings as per state guidelines.

Russell with the show is also a memorial to David J. Beeke, a local enthusiast who passed away.  His friends put together this event to help remember their friend but also to raise funds for cancer research.

Verse of the Day

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
