05/01/25 - WCSG's Travelin Together - Holland Tulip Time
Posted by: Joel Hill | Thursday, May 1st, 2025 ( 6:00am)
Holland’s Tulip Time Festival dates back to 1929 when the city planted 100-thousand tulips to celebrate the blossoms that trace their roots back to the country of Holland. Since then, millions more tulip bulbs have been planted, and the festival has added more spectacular events. Dutch-dressed street sweepers and folk dancers will take part throughout the week, and parades, carnival rides, traditional Dutch food, and drinks will also be available. If you’ve ever thought about learning Klompendancing, there will be free lessons multiple times during the week. For a slower-paced experience, you can take a Dutch shoe painting class or sample cheeses from the Netherlands. For more information, including a camera showcasing the flowers in bloom, visit Tulip Time. For the 24-hour Tulip Tracker - Camera View.
