Amazon Prime Day runs Tuesday and Wednesday, but if you get a message saying there's a problem with your Amazon account or with delivering your order, do not click on it.

- Amazon Prime Day is July 11 and July 12.

The deals, according to Amazon, are exclusively for its Prime members, including personalized deals and top brands.

Many retailers use this week to offer bargains for online shoppers.

Shopping holidays are prime for scammers, too.

Watch out for fake texts and delivery scams. The scammers may say there is a problem with some type of order or have a package that needs to be delivered and they don't have the correct address. Some may claim that there is a problem with your account. You are encouraged to ignore it and not to click on it. Also do not press any support information. Do not install software on your device. If you click on the link, you are at risk of enabling crooks to steal your personal information: passwords, credit card information or bank accounts.

Review details of websites and make sure the sites list legitimate contact information and customer service numbers.

Amazon notes online: "If you received suspicious communication pretending to be from Amazon and you don’t have an account with us, report it to us at stop-spoofing@amazon.com."

Last year, the Federal Trade Commission received nearly 360,000 complaints related to online shopping fraud and 43% of those complaints involved losing money.
