LANSING - State lawmakers passed a $1.5 billion bill that should help to land major business expansions.

Budget committees would have to approve transfers to site readiness and "critical industry" funds so the grant money , loans and other assistance could be distributed to companies.

Right now General Motors wants to build an electric vehicle batter factory in the Lansing area.

The state says state incentives in the bill will help fund more projects in Michigan.
