An unidentified person has died following repair work at the plant.
A worker at the Gerber plant in Freemont has died following an industrial accident.
Nestle reports the employee was working on a line repair when the accident occurred yesterday. The company released a statement expressing sympathy for the worker's family.
“We are heartbroken to share that one of our employees died in an accident today while conducting repairs on a line in our facility in Fremont, Michigan. We are deeply saddened by this loss and our sympathies are with the employee’s family, friends and colleagues,” Nestle said in a statement.
The company is offering support services for employees at the plant.
The person’s name is not being released. Multiple agencies are now investigating.
