Chris Darnell was killed when the stunt truck he was driving crashed at the Field of Flight Airshow.
The driver of a stunt truck was killed this weekend in Battle Creek.
40-year old Chris Darnell was remembered as a kind and generous man who loved what he did. Darnell was driving his jet truck while racing several airplanes in a performance at the Battle Creek Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival on Saturday, when a mechanical failure appears to have caused his vehicle to crash.
The Air Force Thunderbirds dedicated their performance on Sunday to his honor, and the show started with the pilots performing the missing man formation.
A Facebook group announced they plan to meet at 1pm today at the Meijer gas station on Columbia Avenue in Battle Creek and stand in front until 1:22 to honor Darnell's memory..
