High waves had red flags flying along Lake Michigan on Sunday but some swimmers still found themselves in trouble.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — There was another drowning in Lake Michigan over the weekend.

Even though Red Flags were flying at beaches on Sunday, a number of people went into the water.  A man from Ohio was swimming with friends when we began to struggle in the waves and under currents and then disappeared.

Those at the beach were not able to help him and crews were sent to find him.  They were not able to do so on Sunday but then his body was recovered Monday morning.

He is being identified as 19-year-old Michael Hooffstettler of Ohio.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
