6/2/22 - Hope College Put On Lock-Down

"Hope Alert" was issued for the campus of Hope College in Holland Wednesday night.

(HOLLAND) -  There was a shooting in Holland Wednesday night.  Two people were shot near the area of 16th and College Avenue.

As a result, Hope College issued a "Hope Alert" around 10:30 p.m. and that put the campus on lock-down for nearly two hours.

Few details were released but two people were reported to have been shot and the police spent the night looking for the suspect.   

The lockdown was lifted around 1 a.m. after police cleared the area and told the public nearby that they could proceed with caution around campus.
