This has been Teacher Appreciation Week, but you don't need a special occassion to say 'thanks' for the work teachers do. 5/6/22. Image courtesy of Unsplash.

This has been Teacher Appreciation Week. It's never too late to say 'thanks' with these seven tips to spread a little cheer, even over the summer.

This has been Teacher Appreciation Week and perhaps you forgot to send something along to help mark this year’s event.  Well not to worry.  You can say thank you at anytime of the year.  And even over the summer, or you might be able to send a little joy right before the new school year.  Check out these tips and celebrate teachers all year long.

1. Have your child write and mail a letter to their teacher, thanking them for helping your child learn and grow.
2. A gift card for food or classroom supplies.  Many teachers spend money out of their own pockets to make the classroom a little bit brighter.
3. Teacher Appreciation Week is a time to recognize school staff and administration, too.  Reach out to your school’s principal, secretaries, and support staff to let them know how much you care.
4.  Find out your teacher’s favorite treat and drop it off for them to enjoy.
5. A classroom ‘thank you’ book with a note from every student in the class who can participate.
6. A new or gently used book to help fill your teacher’s classroom library.
7. Decorate your teacher’s door with messages of support (get permission from your school administrators).
