Motorists paid record prices at the pump and some air travelers ran into problems trying to get home.

The national average for a gallon of gas is $4.62 this morning.  The state average in Michigan is $4.60, and the average in the Grand Rapids area average is around $4.49 a gallon.  Gas experts say they won't be surprised to see prices go up again within the next few days.

Gas prices are also impacting boaters.  Many say they may not be planning longer trips this summer.

Some airline travelers had a rough return trip from the holiday weekend. Some 7,000 flights were cancelled over the weekend.  Delta Airlines reported the most cancelations.   The airlines blame the inconvenience on bad weather and staff shortages.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ…
