4/8/22 - Battle Creek Public School Staff Member Placed on Administrative Leave

A social media post led to an investigation of a staff member at Battle Creek Public School.

Battle Creek Public School leaders have placed a staff member on administrative leave pending an investigation.  A social media post involving a staff member at Northwestern Middle School led to an investigation.

School leaders posted an announcement on Facebook saying that safety is the number one priority of the district when it comes to their students.

"There’s nothing more important than making sure that every student feels safe, respected, and valued in our community. Our priority is to create a school environment where all students feel safe voicing any concerns. We urge families to please remind their students that if they ever hear or see something that doesn’t seem appropriate or makes them uncomfortable — whether it is from another student or a staff member — they can and should report it to a staff member as soon as possible."
