52-3 District Judge Julie Nicholson has determined the parents of Ethan Crumbly will stand trial on several charges including providing access to the weapon used in the Oxford School shooting late last year.
A district judge has determined that there is enough evidence to bind James and Jennifer Crumbly over for trial.
The couple are accused of providing access to the weapon used in the Oxford School shooting. Defense attorneys for the pair had argued they could not have known about the issues facing their child. Or that they could be held responsible for Ethan Crumbly’s access to the weapon.
Prosecutors argue the parents were given information from school counselors and should have seen the warning signs that their child was suffering with mental illness, but that they ignored the signs because of the focus on their own lives.
Ethan Crumbly's attorney plans to offer an insanity defense, according to documents already filed.
