At least 45 of Florida's 67 counties are under a state of emergency due to Nicole.

It's unusual for a hurricane to make landfall this late in the year on the east coast of Florida, but it came ashore early this morning south of Vero Beach.

It is predicted to move across central and northern Florida and into southern Georgia today and then into the Carolinas tomorrow.  New watches and warnings have been issued.

Forecasters predict tornadoes with this system and heavy rainfall.

Airports and theme parks in its path have been shut down.  Over 100,000 customers are without power.

Shelters have been set up and National Guard members are on standby.

Hurricane Nicole marks the first hurricane to make landfall so late in the year on the east coast of Florida.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
