The international art competition is ready to begin in Grand Rapids on Thursday.
Over the next 18 days, starting on Thursday, you’ll be able to experience an art exhibit like no other in downtown Grand Rapids.
With over 150 venues to choose from, you can experience multiple artistic categories; from paintings to sculpture, and even interactive art displays. Some 750 entries were submitted and will be on display throughout the event.
ArtPrize began in 2009 and since then millions of visitors have viewed, experienced, and participated in artistic expression in the downtown Grand Rapids area. The exhibits have been featured in multiple venues, including hotels, restaurants, businesses, and even the Grand River.
Throughout the competition, there have been multiple changes to the awards structure. This year, organizers expect to award close to 250-thosuand dollars and have eliminated the grand prize winning category.
ArtPrize runs from September 15 - October 2, 2022.
