6/16/23 - Two Local Police Officers Injured in Crash

A chase that began in Kent County ended in a crash in Muskegon County and several people were taken to the hospital, including two police officers.

- Around 9 p.m. Thursday, Michigan State Police attempted to pull over a vehicle that was reported to have been stolen out of Kent County.

The driver did not stop and police began to chase the vehicle, which ended up going into Muskegon County.

The car crashed at the intersection of Peck Street and East Holbrook Avenue in Muskegon area, when it collided with a second cruiser.  Both troopers in that cruiser and the people in the suspected stolen car, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The State Police troopers that were chasing the car, were not injured.

 No names have been released and the Michigan State Police Investigative Response Team is looking into the incident.
