For the first time in over a decade, Michigan unemployment benefits are increasing.
Michigan unemployment benefits are going up for the first time since 2011. Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed six bills this week to extend unemployment benefits to 26 weeks, up from 20 put in place during the Snyder administration. Weekly maximum benefits will also increase by $250 on average, the first such increase since 2003.
