The U.S. Supreme Court is back from the summer recess and are scheduled to hear a number of key cases.

WASHINGTON − The Supreme Court members returned to the Court House to begin a nine-month term .

On their schedule are cases that could impact gun possession, social media, and the Biden administration's power to make decisions without Congress.  The justices themselves are also facing questions about ethics.

On the schedule for this next term are decisions concerning:

-Whether Americans who are subject to domestic violence restraining orders can be barred from owning guns.

-Four fishing businesses are objecting to a federal rule requiring them to pay for monitors on their boat to record their catches.

-Another ruling challenges the funding for the Consumers Financial Protection Bureau and a ruling against the government could undermine other independent agencies.

-An appeal challenges the constitutionality of in-house judges at the Securities and Exchange Commission, which decide cases involving securities fraud that used to be handled by the judicial branch.

-They will look at social media and platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and X. They will hear oral arguments in a pair of cases that deals with whether elected officials may block voters on the sites.

-There will also be a decision in the battle over the abortion pill mifepristone and its access.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This “foolish” plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God's weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.
