An appeals court temporarily blocks federal student loan cancelation.

-Just before the weekend, a federal appeals court put a temporary halt to President Biden’s student debt forgiveness program that would prevent loans from being canceled until the court reviews the legal challenge.

The White House is still encouraging people to fill out an application at studentaid.gov.

There is a suit contending that Pres. Biden doesn’t have the authority to grant such sweeping loans without the approval of Congress.

Up to $20,000 of debt per applicant could be canceled under the new plan.  The Congressional Budget Office estimated that the program would cost about $400 billion over the next 30 years.

The deadline for the government to respond to the states’ filing is today and the deadline for the states to reply to the government’s response is Tuesday.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
