Grand Rapids, MI — Healing in Arts is now accepting registration for Art of Resilience,
inviting U.S. Military veterans to tell their stories through visual art as part of ArtPrize
this fall at Veterans Memorial Park in Grand Rapids.
Art of Resilience is a free veteran wellness program, offering a supportive environment
where veterans can explore creative expression, process lived experiences, and build
connection through guided art workshops. No prior art experience is required—only
a willingness to engage, reflect, and create.
Veteran participants work alongside local artists to create original artwork that reflects
personal stories of service, resilience, struggle, and healing. Through workshops,
mentoring, and optional storytelling support, participants develop individual or
collaborative pieces to be publicly exhibited during ArtPrize. The work honors veterans’
voices while inviting the broader community to listen, reflect, and engage through art.
