Dad’s, outdoors, and a unique experience. A great way to celebrate Father’s Day is to take a trip to the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Our WCSG’s Travelin’ Together visits the 180-acre campus in Augusta where three miles of trails can be explored, including Wintergreen Lake. Back in 1927, the sanctuary served as a refuge for the Canada Goose, and other migratory birds, and was an important part of Trumpeter Swan restoration efforts in Michigan in the 1980s. Birding, nature photography or enjoying the outdoors will provide hours of exploration around the grounds. You’ll see all kinds of birds who call the sanctuary home including birds of prey, abundant waterfowl, gamebirds and songbirds. The area is also an important part of research, providing researchers with a variety of natural and managed systems in which to conduct ecological research; including wetlands, lakes, ponds, forest, and crop-land. No dogs are allowed except for certain locations. Fathers are free this Sunday when visiting with their families. For more information, visit W.K. Kellogg Wildlife Sanctuary.

Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame… For your Maker is your husband – the Lord Almighty is his name – the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
