Peter and Emajean’s lifelong partnership began on November 8, 1940, with their wedding at Grace Reformed Church in Wyoming, Michigan. Together, they built a family that grew to include two sons, Tom and Steve; three grandchildren, Laura Cook Matonich, Ryan Cook, and Kristen Cook Herweyer, who passed away in 2024; and five great-grandchildren—Sophie, Alex, Olivia, Abigail, and Grace.

Today, the Cook family legacy continues through the Foundation, their children and grandchildren, as well as the many community initiatives made possible, in part, by their generosity. Cook Hall on Cornerstone University’s campus is just one example of their lasting investment in the community.
