It's Cold! Talking Arctic Blast with Sara Flynn from Storm Team 8

This is the coldest weekend in West Michigan since the polar vortex in 2019. While this isn’t a “true” polar vortex, it’s just as cold! This is likely the coldest we’ll be this season, but it will still remain 10 to 20 degrees below average for the next few weeks.

Wind chills are below -15 for much of West Michigan, and some spots are as low as -30! Cases of frostbite and hypothermia are possible through the weekend, so we need to take this weather just as seriously as we take tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in the summer.
