Update: Missing Big Rapids Man Car Found Outside State

A Big Rapids man remains missing, but police say his car has been found in Missouri. Investigators have been searching for Fred Byrne ever since he dropped his son off at Hope College on Tuesday. Yesterday, the Big Rapids Police reported Byrne as missing since he had not returned home. Family members tell authorities it’s not like Byrne to take off and not inform anyone. His car turned up at outside the Mark Twain National Forest with the keys inside the unlocked vehicle. Byrne’s wallet was found in the back seat but no other evidence of the missing man.
