5/26/22 - WCSG Travelin' Together - The Shrine of the Pines
Posted by: Joel Hill | Wednesday, May 25th, 2022 ( 5:40pm)
Our WCSG Travelin Together series visits a uniquely Michigan historical site, situated just off the Manistee National Forest. The Shrine of the Pines offers a unique perspective on the use of Michigan White Pine trees. The former owner handcrafted over 200 items using Michigan white pine trees and a set of tools that are still on display. Small chairs and tables are among the items he painstakingly created out of mostly tree stumps, in an effort to showcase the beauty of the natural wood. The centerpiece is a dining table, carved from a 700 pound wood stump. The lodge is located just off of 37, south of Baldwin. You can also explore portions of the Manistee National Forest nearby. The Shrine of the Pines is open Friday through Monday, from 11 to 4pm. Service members are provided free admission. For more information, visit The Shrine of the Pines.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
