Today we remember our beloved Kenny who went home to be with our Lord a year ago today.  Kenny’s time here was shorter than we wanted.  We were so blessed to have him for 42 years. We have the comfort of knowing he is with our Lord, and his scars are now healed.  However, we miss him so very much.  He was a wonderful servant to our Lord, husband, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and nephew.  We look forward to the day we all will join him in Heavan.  Until then, we pray our Lord will keep him in His loving, healing arms.

Kristen was welcomed into her eternal home by her parents, Tom and Marcia Cook on June 11, 2024, at the age of 47.  She left behind her husband, Mike, and their daughters, Abigail and Grace, who continue to embody her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and love for life.

Though she is deeply missed, Kristen’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the family and philanthropic work she passionately supported.

We rest in God’s comfort and provision, holding close the promise of John 14:27:
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

Habakkuk 3:17-19 is our goal “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD. I will be joyful in God, My Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights.”

Today we celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ with hope & joy! Jesus paid the price for all our sins on the cross and He proved it by his resurrection. Because we serve a risen Savior we have HOPE in the chaos, peace in trials and confidence in His promises. It is through faith in our risen Savior we can all have complete forgiveness & eternal life in him. Eph 2:4-5 says, Because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions - for it is by grace you have been saved! God has blessed us with 10 years together after He chose to take our spouses to Heaven. We are so grateful for our children & grandchildren. We have shared many tears, trails, laughter & friendship, with God as our foundation.  We have experienced His peace during Challenging times and faithfulness in so many years. Remembering the scripture read at our wedding, in summary, I Corinthians 13:4-6 and 13, “Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Today marks the 11th year that our daughter Dana, forever 26 years-old, transitioned into the arms of her loving Savior. Her love, tenderness, spunk and compassion for Christ, shined bright to those around her and her PICU patients. Her life set an example through random acts of kindness. It is so difficult to walk in the legacy of a child, so we have chosen to follow in her footsteps and practice Dana’s Legacy Acts of Kindness. This tribute and sponsoring WCSG for today allows us the blessing to give back the way WCSG has given to us.  Dana's life verse, Galatians 2:20 reads, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me."

Today we join Jerry Dykstra of Grand Rapids as he celebrates the home-going of Kristine Lynn Dykstra in 2023 when she finished a courageous fight of cancer.

He notes that her family has comfort knowing that Kris is in heaven singing with the Heavenly Host. Kris, his dear wife of 52 years, is also missed by Kerry, Kim and Brad and 6 grandchildren to whom she was Grandma Mitten.

Kris entered heaven to be with Jesus, her dad, Casey Boersma, her sister Mary Huizenga, and her cousin Bill Wiersma.

Kris loved reading God's Word daily. She enjoyed participating in Bible Studies and found Psalm 23 was her comfort in her dying moments.
