I was born near St. Louis, Missouri into a family that, while not perfect, did make Jesus Christ central and taught me a Biblical view of the world. By my early teens, we had moved to Pennsylvania and I was listening to a lot of radio – I didn’t realize it at the time, but it seems God was preparing me for my future with WCSG.
In the late 1980s I moved to Grand Rapids to go to college and wound up as a student worker at WCSG covering weekend overnights. In 2000, after some years out-of-state exploring another field of work, God led me back to West Michigan to work for a ministry producing radio drama. At the same time, I had the opportunity to fill in various shifts on WCSG. It was while filling in on evenings in 2011 that God provided the opportunity to make that a permanent post.
My wife Kelli and I have been married just over 20 years and we have 4 boys who keep life very interesting!
Born and raised in West Michigan, I grew up listening to WCSG — I never imagined I would work here someday. I became a “temporary Hoosier” while attending college in Indiana, but I missed the beaches, trees, and the people of West Michigan (not to mention the Detroit Tigers!)
When I was offered a position at Cornerstone University Radio, I was excited to move back to the area. I’ve seen firsthand how God can use music and Christian radio to draw us closer to Himself. It’s a privilege to be part of His work at WCSG.
