Grand Rapids Couple Identified Among Victims of I-94 Pileup - Jan 24th, 2014 - Local

Crews this morning are working to remove wreckage from yesterday's deadly pileup in northwestern Indiana that involved more than 40 vehicles.

Three people, including a couple from Grand Rapids, died and more than 20 were injured in the crash on a snowy stretch of eastbound Interstate 94 — the main highway between Chicago and Detroit.

The LaPort County Coroner has identified the couple but will not release their identity until all family members have been notified.

State police say those lanes are still closed, and it could be several more hours before numerous semitrailers and other vehicles are cleared.
