Responding Firefighters ask that we clear out hydrants - Jan 8th, 2014 - Local

Firefighters in the Grand Rapids area responded to a couple big fires in the last 24 hours. The Fire Department is reminding residents to help them out by clearing snow away from hydrants.

A CVS Pharmacy in Kentwood caught fire late Tuesday afternoon. The store that is located near the intersection of Easter and 52nd Street, sustained heavy damage.
The fire is believed to have started in the southwest corner of the building where the pharmacy and walk-in cooler are located. There were no reports of any injuries. Fire crews were rotated due to the cold temperatures.

Multiple crews were sent to a business fire this morning in Gaines Township. Smoke and flames were reported coming from inside Zamora's Disposal on Lilly Steet. No word on the cause.
