Storm could worsen and disrupt travel plans - Nov 27th, 2013 - National

— Forecasters are expecting weather in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast to worsen throughout the day today, possibly resulting in flight delays and cancellations.

The heaviest snow showers are expected in West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, New York and northwest New England.

And heavy showers along the coast could lead to flash flooding. Dispatchers in Philadelphia say one person has been killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 76.

So far the deadly storms barreling into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast have not resulted in many flight delays or cancellations, but forecasters are expecting the weather to worsen as today wears on.
The storm could scuttle a major Big Apple Thanksgiving tradition -- the big balloons at the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Wind regulations say the balloons don't fly if sustained winds exceed 23 mph and gusts exceed 34 mph. Current forecasts call for sustained winds of 20 mph and gusts of 36 mph.
