Blame game continues in shutdown - Oct 3rd, 2013 - National

A White House meeting failed to produce progress and the finger pointing continued afterward over the partial government shutdown, now in its third day. Neither side is showing signs of give on the health care law which is the main roadblock to a temporary spending measure.

Republicans today plan to continue pursuing their latest strategy to end the shutdown and will try to restart some popular programs, such as funds for veterans and paying National Guard and Reserve members. Democrats are demanding that the entire government be reopened.

There is concern that the impasse that caused the partial shutdown could go on for weeks.
