Gas line break halts commuter train in SFC area - Sep 23rd, 2013 - National

— Officials say that a gas main break near a Caltrain-related project has shut down the commuter train's service in two directions.

J.D. Guidi with PG&E says a construction crew working in the San Bruno area broke the main gas pipeline Sunday night.

Firefighters say that there were no injuries or evacuations, according to a report by KTVU,

Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn says that after receiving the news around 9 p.m. PDT, the commuter line stopped train service in both directions while the line was being capped.

She says that passengers were bused to where they could take other transportation.

The leak was over 4 miles away from where a gas main exploded in a residential area of San Bruno in 2010, killing 8 people and destroying 38 homes.
