Alcohol a factor in late night accident - Aug 26th, 2013 - Local
Deputies believe alcohol was a factor in a crash Sunday night that left a Howard City man with possible life-threatening injuries.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 10:03 p.m. Aug. 25 at 18 Mile Road and Algoma Avenue NE.
Deputies said Chad Wehler, 22, of Howard City, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on 18 Mile Road NE and pulled in front of a GMC Yukon driven by Kylie Burns, who was traveling southbound on Algoma Avenue.
Wehler's car was struck in the driver's side. Rescue personnel extricated him from the vehicle. Aero Med transported Wehler to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
Burns, 24, of Howard City, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by Rockford Ambulance.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, deputies said.
