Grand Rapids extends State-of-Emergency - May 1st, 2013 - Local

The city of Grand Rapids is extending the local state-of-emergency issued for flooding cleanup efforts. The new date of May 24th will provide extra time for damage assessments. The city is trying to estimate the full amount of damage to the community and are asking businesses and institutions to fill out a form and submit their flood damage information by later today. That form can be found at: update.grcity.us.
Residents are still urged to use extreme caution near the Grand River or other flooded areas.
