Levin says law enforcement testing letter - Apr 18th, 2013 - State

— Michigan Senator Carl Levin says tests are being conducted on a suspicious letter that was delivered to his Saginaw office and the staffer who discovered the letter is spending the night at a local hospital as a precaution.

Levin said in a statement on Wednesday that the staffer has had no symptoms.

He said he did not know if the letter had any connection to the suspicious mail marked for President Barack Obama and U.S. Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi.

Levin said he expected to learn of the preliminary results of the tests on the letter either late Wednesday or Thursday.

He said his office in Saginaw will remain closed until further notice.
