A Grand Rapids hospital has broken ground on a $54 million dollar expansion and renovation project and the establishment of a cancer program named after former first lady Betty Ford. The Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital plans to double space for patients and also renovate 3 other buildings. The changes will add about 300 jobs in nursing, therapy, and other specialties.
