Pilot project may replace MEAP - Apr 10th, 2013 - State

Students at 700 Michigan schools will join others from several other states, to try out new exams tied to the national "common core" standards in math and English language arts. The Smarter Balanced Assessment could replace the MEAP by the 2014-15 school year. Michigan is working with other states on developing the test and pilot project this year. The project involving software and some test components will be conducted in grades 3 through 11.
