Grand Rapids won't decriminalize marijuana just yet - Feb 20th, 2013 - Local

The City of Grand Rapids won't put an ordinance decriminalizing marijuana into effect just yet. A Kent County judge lifted an injunction and gave the city the go-ahead but City Manager Greg Sundstrom said Tuesday that the city won't implement an ordinance that would make getting caught with marijuana a civil infraction rather than a crime. He said the city will wait for a final decision before it moves forward because the case is still in court. The Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth was granted a restraining order against the amended ordinance, calling it unconstitutional.
