Authorities ID Mich. man fatally shot by deputies - Feb 11th, 2013 - Local
— Authorities have released the name of a man who was shot and killed by sheriff's deputies in West Michigan over the weekend.
41-year-old Ralph Elliott was involved in a dispute with his wife and fired shots before authorities arrived. The shooting happened Saturday night in Barry County's Baltimore Township, about 35 miles southeast of Grand Rapids.
First Lt. Chuck Christensen says Elliott didn't fire at officers but there were "overt actions" by Elliott that prompted deputies to act.
Police say there was a history of conflict between the couple. Prosecutors will review the case following a state police investigation.
