GRPS has new truency policy - Oct 16th, 2012 - Local
Monday night the Grand Rapids Public School Board adopted a truancy policy. The policy stipulates that students may not miss more than 12 days. If they do miss more than 12 then the student automatically fails the class they may have missed. However, they are given the chance to pass if they score better than 70% on the final exam. Educators hope the new policy will help students with a better understanding that the rest of the world requires them to show up on time to work or college.
